For an out of this world home design, Black Galaxy Granite is a sleek option. Quarried in India, this stone is similar to Absolute Black Granite, but features tiny white and gold specks throughout.
The best rule of thumb of this stone is to mix bold with bold, its all in the contrast. This black stone is complimented well with white, light maple and lighter cherry cabinets. The white cabinets pull the white specks out of the stone while the maple and cherry warmer woods pull the gold.
The nature of the stone lends itself to a more modern style. The glitter of the counter is best reflected with lacquer cabinets or some version of high gloss finish. Fixtures with similar tones polished nickel and brass shine with a vibrance when paired with the stone.
When adding another element such as backsplash or bathroom tile to coordinate with this stone, keep a similar bold mindset.
